Bay Athletic Club reopens to their new normal

ALPENA, Mich –The Bay Athletic Club welcomed back its members on Saturday and have thoroughly prepared for their new normal.

The area that once had bar stools for visitors who either read the paper or had their coffee is now replaced with equipment.

As a result of the six–foot distancing rule, other gym equipment is now spaced out.

They looked at industry standards pertaining to sanitizing and is complying.

According to Communications Director, Sarah Morrison, cleanliness has always been a priority at Bay Athletic Club but they wanted to do more.

The gym closes from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day so they can do a thorough cleaning.

Morrison said there is a lot of excitement from the members to return but for her, it is essential for them to be open.

While the areas where members socialize are altered, orders can still be placed for drink and snack items but you must remain behind the yellow line.  

Morrison is encouraging members to respect social distancing, use the hand sanitizer available and clean off equipment after use.
