Baby Pantry available to parents in Alpena

ALPENA, Mich.— Take what you need and bring back what you can is the motto for the Alpena Baby Pantry. Parents in need of extra help for their children or who want to donate baby items can utilize the pantry free of charge.

The nonprofit organization is staffed with volunteers and funded through donations. Parents can pick up diapers, children’s clothing and baby food as well as other necessities such as strollers and infant seats.

The pantry provides resources for children from infant to four years of age. All parents need is a birth certificate for entry to utilize the pantry. The pantry has serviced parents for over 20 years in Alpena.

The pantry welcomes donations of winter coats and boots as the cold weather rolls in. New and used clothing is accepted.

The pantry is opened from 9am to 2pm every third Thursday each month. For more information, contact Kathryn Newhouse at 989–356–9317.
