Austin Szumowicz

Austin is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts and a minor in Journalism and joined WBKB 11 as a Sports Anchor in August 2021! Born and raised in Davison, Michigan, Austin grew up an avid lover of sports and entertainment. He played baseball growing up and also became a frequent golfer with his Dad and Grandfather. While at CMU, Austin interned at both WJRT ABC 12 and WEIY Mid-Michigan Now in Flint, worked behind the scenes for the PBS Station on campus, WCMU, and spent time in 2020 on-air at 98KCQ When he's not talking about Detroit Sports, Austin is obsessed with music and can also sing, play guitar and piano!
