ALPENA, Mich – In a press release last week Au Gres–Sims school district received a 7,000 grant from Catherine and John Maser Au Gres Library Fund of the bay area community foundation
The funds were given to support the creation and expansion of classroom libraries and literacy resources at the Au Gres–Sims secondary building.
The school plans to provide students increased access to a wide selection of reading materials both in digital and print.
The school’s Instructional Services Director, Jennifer Socha, said, “To best support reading competencies critical at the secondary academic level, a text variety should be available.”
Socha added they are incredibly fortunate to have received the grant as well as the opportunity to foster a love for reading.
