Art in the Loft honored Susan Bastow and the Susan Lane Foundation with an Image and Word in Black and White program last night.
Family and friends celebrated Susan’s legacy by exploring different types of art and poetry.
Susan’s artwork was also put on display to show her love for black and white images.
Susan was a founder of Art in the Loft, which started 15 years ago.
Her niece and nephew spoke during last night’s event in remembrance of their special aunt.
“I think it’s important that Sue was really accepting all of art forms and starting this space in a small town giving artist of all medians a location to display their art and encouraging. She was very communal about that and encouraged others. We used to come up here when we were young and help her hang her photographs and spend sometime here. So I just think that spirit of giving and acceptance of other artist is alive and well here at Art in the Loft,” Susan’s niece said.
Proceeds collected at last night’s event will benefit the Susan Lane Foundation.
