ALPENA, Mich — Art in the Loft is always on a mission to bring personal and cultural enrichment to the community, but they can’t do it all on their own. The gallery will hold its signature fundraiser on Thursday, November 7.
Each year, Art in Loft brings community members together, serving top of the line food, drinks and entertainment in order to keep the gallery up and running. Money brought in from the Light up the Loft event offers people of all ages a healthy way to explore their creative sides and develop their artistic skills. The reach program is just one example of that.
“It brings area students from special needs classrooms into the loft for two hours every time they come [for] culinary arts and visual arts instruction. They learn life skills. They get to implement photography and graphic design into their every day live as well.”
The gallery hosts a number of other classes, and even offers scholarships for courses throughout the year. But coming to the gallery won’t only benefit the community, it’ll be a night to get dressed and mingle with others looking to make a difference in their community. Christensen-Cooper says,
“We’re super excited for some live music, and then the key part to that event is we have six local chefs serving small plates that whole night, and they’re going to be vying for the public’s vote that purchase tickets to come to this, for the top chef of the night.”
There will also be a live auction, a silent auction and themed attire presented by staff. For more info, contact Art in the Loft.
