ALPENA, Mich. – Eligible residents looking to be vaccinated for COVID–19 are being asked by the local health department to be patient as they’ve been swamped with calls.

District Health Department Number 4 is following the Michigan Department of Health and Human Service’s updated guidelines and began vaccinating the following groups on Monday which include people ages 65 years or older and frontline essential workers with frequent exposure as part of their work.

This includes first responders, police officers, jail and prison staff, pre–k through 12 teachers and childcare providers.

Clinic dates start on Thursday January 14th at the DHD4 Alpena office where an appointment is required.

The health department will continue to notify the public of additional clinic dates and vaccine availability as it becomes available.

January 14th, from 1 PM – 7 PM at the DHD4 Alpena Office

January 19th, from 1 PM – 7 PM at the Cheboygan Knights of Columbus Hall

January 20th, from 1 PM – 7 PM at the Eagles Club, Atlanta, MI

January 22nd, from 1 PM – 7 PM in Presque Isle Co. Millersburg Elementary School

January 23rd, from 9 AM – 4 PM at Alpena Community College
