APS responds to Governor Whitmer’s recommendations for activity suspension
ALPENA, Mich. — Alpena Public Schools wasted no time responding to Governor Whitmer’s recommendation to voluntarily suspend some activities.
APS is asking families and students to stay vigilant with the safety protocols of masking, social distancing and hand washing.
Superintendent David Rabbideau said they have developed additional COVID-19 mitigation strategies that have helped them since the beginning of the school year. Rabbideau added this is the area he feels people have most concern.
He said as a result of their vigilance, there’s been very little evidence of the virus being transmitted in the schools.
