ALPENA, Mich. — Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, Alpena Public Schools has now responded to heightened fears surrounding pandemic.
WBKB did attempt to cover a story at one of the local elementary schools on Thursday,but was informed that the event had been cancelled as a safety precaution. The Superintendent of Alpena Public Schools sent out a press release referencing tips from the Governor and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on how to prevent the spread of the disease.
This district is also planning to postpone or cancel gatherings of more than 100 people until further notice. They have also implemented additional cleaning in school buildings and on buses. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to your child’s school, or to Superintendent John VanWagoner.
