APS holding bond proposal informational meetings
ALPENA, Mich. — As voting for Alpena’s highly anticipated bond proposal draws near, the district is hosting a number of town hall meetings to address concerns.
The gatherings will give residents within the APS service area a chance to ask questions and give feedback regarding terms of the proposal. As we’ve previously reported, voters are being asked to approve a zero mil increase that will fund renovations in deteriorating and outdated school buildings. Some of the projects include fixing leaky roofs and improving security.
Dates and times for the meetings are as follows:
Thursday 2/13 6:30 PM at Sanborn School, 12170 US-23, Ossineke
Monday 2/24 6 PM Granum Theater at ACC, 665 Johnson St. Alpena
Wednesday 2/26 6 PM Wilson Elementary School, 4999 Herron Rd. Herron
Thursday 3/5 9 AM Presque Isle’s Men Group, Association Clubhouse, 7424 Kauffman Rd.
If you are unable to attend, Superintendent John VanWagoner is inviting voters to schedule appointments to learn more about the proposal. Election day is Tuesday, March 10.
