Anonymous donation comes into Salvation Army

ALPENA, Mich. — The Salvation Army in Alpena said in a press release that on Wednesday, Dec. 9 they received an anonymous donation of $2,500 in different local kettles.

Major Prezza Morrison says that the anonymous donor has struck in prior years, as well. The donation came in the form of of five piles of five $100 dollar bills left in different kettles around Alpena. A similar donation was left in another local kettle about a week and a half ago as well, said Morrison.

The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Fundraiser is their largest of the year, and this donation helped bring them closer to their goal of $155,000. The Army is servicing 40 more local families and about 100 more children this year than they do in normal years.
