Alpena’s Mason Bray places fourth in wrestling District Finals and is off to MHSSA Regionals

ALPENA, MI – District Finals were underway for high school wrestling, and for the Alpena Wildcats, all eyes were on Senior Mason Bray for Individual Districts. Mason, who came into today with over 40 wins on his record this year, had the best chance of qualifying for Regionals with a  strong performance. Lucky for him, that just so happened to be the case.

Mason Bray picked up two pinfall victories to finish in fourth place for District Finals. That is enough for him to head to MHSSA Wrestling Individual Regionals at Midland Dow next weekend. Mason’s season record now sits at 44-4.

Gunner Spencer nearly made the Regional tournament with two wins and two losses, but unfortunately he missed out. Conner Sauve also competed at Districts, finishing with one loss, ending his first wrestling season with a positive 20–17 record.

Mason Bray now has a chance to make State Finals for the second straight season if his all goes well at Regionals.
