Alpena Weather – June 6, 2018

High temperatures today were five to 10 degrees warmer than yesterday and the upward trend will continue into tomorrow. Areas away from the shoreline of Lake Huron had highs near the 70 degree mark, while areas closer to the shoreline had highs in the mid-60s.

Tomorrow will start off mostly cloudy, but the sky will become sunnier during the afternoon as high pressure from southern Canada settles over the Upper Peninsula. Despite a light breeze out of the north, high temperatures will warm into the 70s.
Expect decreasing clouds tomorrow with temperatures near 60 degrees in the morning, warming up to 73 degrees tomorrow afternoon in Alpena, then dropping back to about 60 degrees in the evening.

Friday will start off with mostly sunny skies, then clouds will thicken in the afternoon and evening as a weak storm system passes to our south. That system could give us a chance of showers early on Saturday, but most of the weekend should be dry. Over the weekend, a gentle breeze out of the east off of Lake Huron will keep daytime temperatures in check, near the 70 degree mark. Temperatures will rebound into the mid-70s during the upcoming week.
