Alpena Ukrainian Refugee Fundraiser

ALPENA, MI. – The Ukranian Refugee Fundraiser of Alpena raised a total of $19,050.

The community fundraiser for Ukraine kicked off their first rummage sale day on Friday.
Friday, April 22, was the first of two sale days for the Ukrainian refugee fundraiser. The people of Alpena flooded through the A–plex doors at the start of the fundraiser. Volunteers and event coordinators were more than pleased with the outcome.

“It is so wonderful. It renews my faith in humanity. The good people of Alpena want to do good. They want to do something for someone else. It has truly been a delightful experience all the way around.” said Stefanie Huffaker.

The community showed up in a major way with hundreds of items donated, more than ready to make an impact.
“We live in a marvelous community. We have wonderful people who are generous. They want to help. Everyone seems to be giving more than we have asked for.  I think the universal feel is a community feeling of goodness, to do be able to make an impact to do something good.” said Tammy Hermansen.

All proceeds will go toward the needs of Ukrainian refugees. For more donation options, visit the event Facebook page linked below.
