Alpena Township residents to see five percent water bill increase
ALPENA, Mich. – Alpena Township residents will soon see a hike on their water bill.
The vote to increase water and sewer rates by 5 percent for residents happened Tuesday.
The board said the increase will help the township cover additional costs to run township services.
The board said the increase is effective immediately.
The good news, trustees say water and sewer collections have been more successful.
The board has seen more residents signing up to make payments electronically through their bank accounts.
