Alpena High School students craft desks for Imagination Station Giveaway

ALPENA, Mich. — With most learning taking place in their own homes this year, many students need a place to do their work. That’s why Alpena High School is holding an “Imagination Station Giveaway”. K-5 students at Alpena Schools are eligible to win a free desk.

The desks have been constructed by high school students involved in the CTE program, which teaches them a number of different modern career skills including engineering, industrial technology, mechatronics and more. Director of the CTE program, Joyce McCoy says the younger kids will greatly benefit from this giveaway. “We just talked about what might help them and we thought an area to study in their homes is so important,” she said. “We found that out as we all went online in March when schools closed. So, our students have the skills and our teachers have the skills to make this project go well.”

There are 25 desks to give away and they come in a variety of colors. To enter the drawing, parents can go to Alpenaschools.com or click here. Registration is being accepted until this Friday.
