ALPENA, Mich. — Another rough night for the Alpena Wildcats ice hockey team as they fall to Traverse City Bay Reps by a score of 4-1 in their annual “Teddy Bear Toss.” The Wildcats got off to a hot start in the first period, as Charlie Halleck was able to find Evan Kraenzlein from the point to give Alpena the early lead.
Bay Reps made the necessary adjustments in the second period as they were able to even it up at one apiece. Then came the third period, Alpena ran out of fuel as Bay Reps capitalized on three more goals to secure the victory.
The Wildcats are back on the ice next Friday when they travel to Gaylord to take on Flint Powers in the Division III Showcase. Puck drop is at 12 p.m.
