Alpena DDA says shop downtown and local for back-to-school supplies
ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena Downtown Development Authority (DDA) hopes parents will head downtown before purchasing back–to-school supplies online. The DDA is collaborating with downtown merchants to once again host a fun full day of shopping, with sales, backpack giveaways, and giving back. The Back to School Shopping event will take place during merchants’ regular business hours on Saturday, August 21. Some merchants will be collecting donations to support local teachers in purchasing supplies.
