Alpena County Library teaching teens how to prepare dinner in a mug
ALPENA, Mich — Good news for people who don’t like grocery shopping or for those simply running low on time.
There are now recipes that allow you to take items you probably already have at home, put them in a cup, and have dinner made in less than five minutes. It’s called meal in a mug and a tutorial is coming to Alpena.
The Alpena County Library is offering the meal in a mug program for 12 to 19 year olds interested in learning how to make a quick and tasty dinner. Head of public services at the library, Christina St. John, says there are a number of satisfying dishes that can be made using just a mug and a microwave. She says she’s made all different kinds of recipes, which students will get to try within the three course meal they’ll make in class.
Meal in mug is Sunday, November 24 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the library.
