Alpena county fair canceled
ALPENA, Mich -Summer will be a lot quieter this year due to cancellations of popular events within the community.
The Alpena county fair board has made the decision to cancel the annual fair for this year.
This was decided after fair board officials were not able to come up with a safety plan for residents surrounding the COVID–19 pandemic.
The board will continue to assist with educational and mentor needs for the Alpena county 4–H program.
The 4–H program will display their animal projects and market live stock virtually in August.
Residents are encouraged to support the youth program and its longevity.
