ALPENA, Mich. — Alpena City Council voted Monday to eliminate the cap on marijuana provisioning centers. Council previously passed an ordinance to allow medical marijuana facilities in the city.
Mayor Matt Waligora said about a year ago they limited provisioning centers to only two. Waligora adds that they recognized through this process that the scoring for allowance was not as clear as they thought. He said they agreed to remove the limit and are working with legal staff to make revisions.
The council’s next meeting is mid March where they will review the recommendations.
