Alpena Chamber Opens House on New Renovations

After four years of renovations, the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce was happy to showcase their new space this evening.

Chamber members as well as the community were invited not only take a look around the remodeled building, but also for good company, good food and drink, and an inside glance at new projects Chamber members are working on. Chamber president Jackie Crawczak says their work with government relations is one area they took the opportunity to showcase today.

“We’re always looking for ways that we can make the business climate better. A lot of those things are not ever made public, so we like to showcase it as often as possible because there’s a lot of value in that, but it doesn’t necessarily make it out into the general public,” she says.

The Chamber set up an information table at today’s event to offer visitors an inside look at some of the things that have been going on. One Chamber member said today made it clear how much the Chamber really does for our community.

“There’s some really good stuff here. Every time I walk in here I learn a little bit more about what our chamber does. I think some businesses probably wonder what they do, but for those of us who are involved with the Chamber they do a lot of great things for our community,” said Marc Ferguson of Edward Jones Advisements. Today’s open house accentuated just how much support the Chamber has from the community, which is important when it comes to Alpena’s growth.

“Everybody should support our chamber. You know, this is what grows our community. If a community isn’t growing, it’s probably dying. Alpena’s growing right now and I think in large part it’s due to our chamber,” said Ferguson.
