Alpena celebrates Seniors Night with a win over Rogers City 70-25

ALPENA, MI – The Alpena Wildcats were able to grab their final Big North Conference win of the season last weekend against the winless Gaylord Blue Devils. The Wildcats had their first of two final non-conference games before they take on Gaylord again in the first round of District Playoffs on Monday. On a special Senior Night game, Alpena hosted the Rogers City Hurons.

Alpena honored five Wildcat seniors tonight before the game. Those Seniors were Austin Prue, Mason Mumford, Luke Young, Ryan Voltz and Cooper Bright. Congrats to all of those seniors on their final year as Wildcats.

Getting into the game now, Alpena blew the doors off of the Hurons defense all game long. Fast break for the Wildcats, Cooper Bright makes the bounce pass to Rryan Voltz and Voltz makes the slick layup. He had over 10 points in just the first quarter and finished with 17 points.

Cooper now in the corner, makes a long lob pass to Austin Prue. Prue finishes off the alley oop layup on a nice play from both of those seniors.

Rogers City with it now. Matt Wilbert makes the bounce pass to Dillon Cook and Cook has just enough space to make the high layup for the Hurons.

Alpena back with it. Cooper makes the pass to Easton Srebnik up top. He fires from three–point range and nails that one for the Wildcats.

Fast break now for Alpena, Cooper passes to Voltz and then finally Ryan passes to Luke Young. He tries for the fast break layup and makes that one.

Now Cooper had moved the ball well all night but this time he came on the fast break with a layup of his own. All the Alpena seniors came to play tonight.

Finally Cooper now on another fast break finds Nicholas Geister down low. Nicholas tries for a layup and that one falls.

The Wildcats came out on Seniors Night and destroyed the Hurons on their home court. Final score is 70–25. Alpena will wrap up the regular season on Thursday against Tawas and then Playoffs begin for the guys on Monday when they get another match against Gaylord.
