Alpena Athletic Director Tim Storch plans on retiring

ALPENA, Mich. — Usually when you do something for many years, it gets pretty repetitive. You eventually get to the point where you start thinking about yourself and your loved ones regarding the future. That was the case for Tim Storch!

After six years of being the Athletic Director for Alpena Public Schools, Storch plans on retiring at the end of June. He made the announcement during a Board of Education meeting that was held earlier this week.

In 2014, Storch took over as the Athletic Director in July from Tim Wedge and has loved what he’s been doing for the Alpena community. However, he thought it was best to turn the page and start another chapter in his life.

“My wife and I would like to spend some together, by doing some traveling,” said Storch. “When you’re an Athletic Director, you’re working a lot of hours. I want to thank all the people in Alpena that have really helped make my job easier. Unselfishly, they’ve given to improve Alpena Athletics from a facility and competitive standpoint. It has been enjoyable!”

Even though Storch will no longer be the Athletic Director at the end of June, he still plans on coaching boys and girls soccer for the Wildcats.
