Alcona offering vaccines for homebound seniors
ALCONA, Mich. — This afternoon, the Alcona County Commission on Aging announced an opportunity for seniors wh0 are homebound to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
Anyone who is 65 years of age and older and a resident of Alcona County is eligible to receive the vaccine in the comfort of their own home. The vaccine offered will be the Johnson and Johnson single-dose vaccine that was approved for use by the FDA this past weekend.
Vaccines will be given out on Friday, March 5. The only requirements are that individuals are 65 and older and an Alcona County resident. Those interested can call the Alcona Health Center COVID line at 989-736-9819 to register to receive their vaccine this Friday.
