Alcona hires Brendan Nelson as new soccer head coach

ALCONA, Mich. –Last Week long time Alcona Tigers soccer coach Tim Munro stepped down after nine seasons. It didn’t take long for them to find his replacement. Brendan nelson takes over a varsity program that he played for from 2014 to 2017. During which time he helped bring back to back district championships to Alcona.

Brendan does bring a little coaching experience to the Tigers after coaching hockey coach for the Alpena wildcats the past few seasons.  For Nelson he wants to teach the players more then just soccer he wants to teach them life lessons, but at the same time just have fun.

Nelson plans to take what he learned from Munro and bring the championship culture back to Alcona.
