LANSING, Mich. — Airbnb said it will review reservations in Lansing ahead of expected demonstrations at the Michigan State Capitol building on Sunday, Jan. 17. The company said it may cancel bookings by anyone determined to be part of a hate group or who might be coming to the city with violent intentions.
In addition, Airbnb said it will cancel reservations in the Washington, D.C. metro area during the Inauguration week. In a statement, the company said it will prevent any new reservations in the Washington, D.C. area from being booked during that time by blocking such reservations. Airbnb said guests whose reservations are canceled will be refunded in full. The company also said they will reimburse hosts, at Airbnb’s expense, the money they would have earned from these cancelled reservations.
