Earlier this week the Alpena Public Schools Curriculum and Technology Committee met to discuss the high schools need for updated security cameras.
AHS Principle Matt Poli presented the idea to the committee on Monday.
Currently the school is having troubles maintaining all the cameras and having them function properly day in and day out.
The proposed system would include 132 cameras inside of the school, with an additional 37 cameras outdoors and another nine that would be added at Wildcat Stadium.
Very early estimates have the project around the $100,000 mark.
A formal presentation will be made to the board of education in the near future.
