ACRC Approved For Reimbursement
The Alpena County Road Comission was recently approved for a reimbursement request they filed earlier this year.
The Transportation Asset Management Council notified commission officials that they will receive $955.00 through a first come first serve reimbursement program. The money is for costs associated with participating in the Pavement Surface Evaluation and Rating, or PASER program. PASER is an evaluation effort to assess and report the condition of paved surfaces on county roads.
“It’s part of our ongoing process to maintain our pavement systems, each year on our roads that are eligible for federal aid- we go out and rate the pavement conditions,” said Larry Orcutt, ACRC Managing Director. “ Every third year it’s our attempt to go out and do the local roads that are not eligible for federal aid,” said Orcutt.
Alpena was one of only fourteen municipalities in the state to be awarded reimbursement dollars for costs associated with the program. Orcutt says they expect to begin rating roads this summer, and to receive the reimbursement this fall.
