ACES Celebrates 20 Years and Past-Graduates

Next week faculty, students, family members, and even post grads of aces will gather at the school for a special celebration. The school will be hosting their annual luncheon as a way for ACES graduates to share their post aces lives with students and staff. This year’s luncheon is extra special for two reasons– ACES will be celebrating their 20th year anniversary and unveiling their new ACES military wall.

“The ACES Day celebration is actually a day to honor 20 years of graduating students from ACES academy. One of the projects that our student leadership wanted to do something special with a little brainstorming and kind of came up with the idea of honoring past graduates who have served in the military,” said Vicki Densfaedt.

Students worked very hard on the wall, honoring many aces graduates who have gone on to military careers, and even those who didn’t make it back home.

“Well we’re basically just doing it for the veterans and for the community so that you know people that were in the wall and they graduated here they know that they’re special to us and they’re still our family members because here at ACES we’re a huge family and we love each other very much,” Taryn Bates, student.

Along with students, faculty, family, and postgraduates, the mayor will also be in attendance and a ribbon cutting for the new wall will be conducted at the event.

“I think that knowing all of those people came from here is just great knowing that I can be like that one day,” said Erica Vanderbeer, student.

“It’s a very humbling reminder of what they have given, and hopefully an inspiration to the kids that are here and what they can achieve,” said Kris Coping, teacher.

The event will take place at the school on Tuesday, May 23rd at 10:30am.

If you’re a postgraduate of aces and have served in the military, you’re asked to contact the school so that you can be recognized at the event.
