ALPENA, MI.- Cancer patients are benefiting from the efforts of the Alpena Community College Student Nurses Association.
ACC raised money through the annual fundraiser, Hoops for Hope. The funds will give support to residents battling cancer.
The Student Nurses Association hosted a bake sale, 50/50 drawing, and a half time shooting contest. They were able to donate more than 500 dollars to My Michigan Medical Center Alpena for cancer patients. Shannon Albrecht, vice president of the Alpena Community College Student Nurses Association, says that despite having little notice, they were still able to pull together a good size donation for the cancer center.
