ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena Community College women’s basketball team had another tough outing on Saturday.
They played well in the first quarter, with the game tied up at 21. Then the second quarter came where Delta took the lead with just over four minutes left and the Ladyjacks were down 40-32 at the break.
ACC didn’t come out strong in the third quarter they allowed Delta to go on a 24-13 run to end the quarter and that was all she wrote as Delta went on to beat ACC 74-60.
The lumberjacks started their game strong scoring the first nine points of the contest and building an early 19-4 lead. ACC had a 17 point lead but let Delta go on a 10-0 run to end the half. They only led by nine at the break.
The second half was one for the ages. This game came down to the last shot. ACC was down three with 6.9 seconds left. They got the ball into Garret Miller’s hands for a shot to go to overtime but his attempt at the buzzer was wide. The lumberjacks lose a tough back and forth game 70-67.
