ACC Community Enrichment starts with first aid for pets

ALPENA, Mich.– Alpena Community College’s enrichment classes are back.

Veterinarian Laurie Jackowiak will be the first presenter in ACC’s “Community Enrichment” program this year. Her class teaches attendees how to recognize and treat  emergencies in cats and dogs.

ACC spokeswoman Jess Haselhuhn said the class also has a segment on drug scams.

“It’s really important to make sure that the medication that you’re giving your pets is coming from a reputable source. Unfortunately, there’s some companies that might try and sell stuff that’s not the best for your pet.”

The class runs on Wednesday, April 14 from 6 to 8 PM.

For safety, class capacity isn’t as large as previous years.
