ACC officials hope to follow in the successful footsteps of Georgia Tech, by approving the purchase of video conference equipment.
During Wednesday night’s meeting, the ACC Board of Trustees gave the thumbs up to purchase the new equipment, hoping it will expand dual-enrollment offerings for high school students, as well as combine low–enrollment classes at regional sites.
This will allow professors the ability to teach a class via video chat, so that small groups of students wouldn’t have to gather but could learn from home instead. With the incorporation of similar equipment at Georgia Tech; the school was able to increase their course section offerings by thirty-seven percent in just one year. ACC hopes for similar results with the purchase.
