ACC adds six new Ladyjacks to volleyball team

The Ladyjacks welcomed 6 news players to their team on Sunday.

Alpena, Mich — Alpena Community College officially welcomed six new volleyball players to the Ladyjacks squad. Alpena High School’s Jessica Leeck, Alexandria Villarreal, and Allison Precord joined Hillman’s Brooke Jones and Emily Noffze, as well as Rogers City’s Maddy Hincka. Alpena CC can also expect one more signee from Marquette.

The six area players have been meeting monthly at open gym practices as they start to build chemistry with one another. Most of the new members have played with or against the four returning sophomores during their time in high school as well. Rising sophomore Jozie Appelgren is looking forward to playing with Jones and Noffze again.

“I already know how they play and it’s really nice to have good chemistry with them,” said Appelgren.  “And it makes it easier because I played my whole high school career with them.”

The Ladyjacks will try to improve on last season’s 3-15 overall record. The numbers are deceiving as Alpena was often beat by only a few points per set.
