Grant Township —  57-year-old Jerry McCauley has been labeled as the prime suspect in the murder of his wife, 55-year-old Gina McCauley.

Gina McCauley was found dead Saturday in the kitchen of their home on the 100th block of Pioneer St. She had suffered multiple stab wounds in what is believed to be a domestic dispute. Their son found McCauley on the floor. He dialed 911 around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday evening.

A Michigan State Police crime investigation unit looked into the home on Saturday night into Sunday morning. Jerry McCauley was taken into custody after he declined to talk with investigators and asked to speak with an attorney. He was arraigned on Tuesday with a charge of open murder. He is being lodged at Iosco County Jail without bond.
