Alexis Young is crowned winner of the WBKB Karaoke Contest
ALPENA, Mich.— Each year community residents compete in the WBKB Karaoke Contest for an all expense paid trip to the Grammy’s. Alexis Young was crowned winner of the annual competition beating out 32 other competitors.
Young sang the Andrew Sisters 1941 hit Boogie Woggie Bugle Boy in the first round and Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend by Marilyn Monroe in the second.
Alexis young says, “Older music is her favorite and those two songs were perfect.” The karaoke competition is just one outlet residents can let their voice be heard.
