ALPENA, Mich. – Two men were killed in Alabaster Township in Iosco County earlier this month.
A 55–year–old man from Augres named James Engelmann, and a 54–year–old man from San Rafael, Calif. named Michael Dady were pronounced dead on scene October 5.
According to Michigan State Police, Engelmann was the driver and Dady rode in the passenger seat beside him.
Engelmann lost control of the car and veered off the road.
By the time he reentered US–23, the car collided with an oncoming commercial truck.
Paramedics had to transport Ricky Schmidt, a 60–year–old from Alpena, to the hospital for serious injuries. He was the driver in the white truck.
Investigators ruled out alcohol and drugs.
