11U Blockheads win third straight tournament; Thundercats have strong showing

The Thunder Bay Blockheads 11U baseball team won their third consecutive tournament of the year up in Pickford. The team managed to win all four games and now sit at 12-0 on the season. The Blockheads defeated Manton in the championship game by a score of 14-4. This capped off three great weekends of baseball where they outscored their opponents 156-16. They return to the diamond on July 10, in West Branch.

The Alpena Thundercats softball teams were also in action over the weekend in Traverse City playing in the Bayside Bash. The 12U team brought home a win in the consolation bracket, while the 14U team placed 4th out of 25 teams. Both teams return to action on July 17, in Rogers City, before returning home to take part in the Alpena Thunderstruck Tournament on July 24.
